Pokemon GO Buddy System has been revealed following some data mining from the latest Pokemon GO app version.
The Pokemon GO Buddy System data was first found on AeonLucid’s PogoProtos, which is the biggest Github repository on Pokemon GO network traffic analysis. The system was introduced in the code base for version 0.35.0.
Here’s a short summary of what the Buddy System will bring to the table:
- You can only have one Buddy Pokemon at any given time.
- Walking your Buddy Pokemon will award you with Pokemon Candy. The amount of candy is still unknown.
- Walking the same Pokemon Buddy multiple times will be possible, but it is still unclear if a daily limit will be set for the amount of obtained candy.
- The Buddy Pokemon will be displayed differently according to it’s type and size:
- Medium size
- Big size
- Flying next to you
- Rests on your shoulder
Considering the buddy system uses the same code elements as other Pokemon GO features, it could land as early as next week. As always, we’ll keep you posted on any update.
